Every rate, and the margin on it
We publish our margin — 0.4% on the mid-market rate — because that is where most services hide their real charge. Rates update every minute.

How our rates work
Where does your rate come from?
We take the mid-market rate — the midpoint between the buy and sell price on the global currency market, the same number you see on Google or Reuters — and add a margin of 0.4%. That margin is how we make money on the exchange, and it is the same for everyone.
What does “rate locked” mean?
When you get a quote, that exact rate is held for 30 minutes. If the market moves against us while you are finishing the transfer, we absorb the difference. If it moves in your favour you keep the locked rate — we do not re-quote.
Why is your rate different from the one I saw on Google?
Google shows the raw mid-market rate, which is not a rate anyone can actually transact at. Ours is that number minus our 0.4% margin. Most services show you a rate that is 3–5% off the mid-market without saying so; comparing the final amount received is the only fair test.
Can I lock a rate for longer?
Yes, indirectly. Open a local-currency wallet and convert when the rate suits you — the converted amount is yours to hold and send whenever you like. Wallets are free and there is no conversion fee between your own wallets.
