Fees

Every fee, on one page

If a charge is not listed here, we do not make it. That includes the exchange-rate margin, which is where most of the industry hides its real price.

The awkward questions

What is the exchange-rate margin?

0.4% on the mid-market rate. It is the same for every corridor and every customer, and it is the only charge that is not in the tables above. We publish it because most services take 3–5% here without disclosing it, which is usually far more than their headline fee.

So what does a $200 transfer to Nigeria actually cost?

$2.99 for instant delivery, plus 0.4% on the conversion — about $0.80. Total cost around $3.79, and your recipient gets ₦308,040. A typical service charging $8 plus a 4% rate margin would cost roughly $16 on the same transfer.

Are there fees you have not listed?

No. Everything Payvio charges is on this page. Your bank may charge you for an outgoing ACH transfer, and a credit card issuer may treat a top-up as a cash advance — those are their charges, not ours, and we flag both in the app before you confirm.

Is my first transfer really free?

Yes, on your first send up to $500 the transfer fee is waived. The exchange-rate margin still applies, because that is the cost of the conversion itself. After that, standard fees on this page apply.
